Info Post
If you've got a shiny new Android smartphone or tablet for Christmas, then you're going to want some decent games for it.
There are thousands of apps and games available on the Google Play Store - and if you've got a new device, the choice can be bewildering.
Google helps things a bit with its top charts, but there are still some great games that slip through the cracks. And what's more, some games are expensive whilst others can be played for nothing - just watch out for those in-app payments.

Pokémon GO

It had to be Pokémon GO really, didn't it? The augmented reality game has been the breakout mobile hit of 2016. A few extra treats have been released for the Christmas period, so it's a good time to get into it.The game is free to download and play but can require in-app payments.

Clash Royale

A spinoff from Clash of Clans, this is a realtime multiplayer game that Google included on its end-of-year list.
Simple, right? This game is also free to download but does contain in-app purchases.

Real Racing 3

Real Racing 3 may be a few years old, but it should be first choice for anyone that fancies a proper simulator.

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff

Almost like Sim City set in Quahog, this game was developed in collaborations with the writers of the TV show and features plenty of jokes and all the official voices.

Dream League Soccer 2016

This great little football sim has you rising through the ranks to challenge for the Euro League. The graphics look good on a phone or a tablet screen and you've got the usual options to pass, shoot or cross the ball. One word of warning: although this game is free, it makes use of in-app purchases so be careful you don't end up spending too much.
