Info Post

Twitter has started rolling out an update to its iOS app. This update is touted to provide users with more control over their profile. It involves personalising timeline and selecting the users they wish to interact. The update info was published on Twitter’s official blog. It brings considerable changes to notification settings along with a new quality filter setting. This new update offers better control to the general Twitter users. By general users, we mean normal users like us who don’t have a verified profile, unlike the celebrities.

Primarily, the new notifications settings enable users to restrict notifications to select people. Like the ones they follow on Twitter’s mobile and desktop website. By tweaking these settings, you would see interaction from the profiles you follow back. Thankfully, this will declutter the notifications tab. A significant relief for the users who get a lot of notifications. Also, with this new update, the notifications settings menu has become more accessible. The website is also adding a smart link to the page, which takes users directly to the notifications tab.

Interestingly, Twitter is adding a new feature – quality filter setting. Select users have been using the quality filter settings for a while, but it will now be available for all the users. On its blog, Twitter explains that the quality filter setting is dedicated to improving the quality of tweets. When turned on, the quality filter would enhance the tweet quality by factors like account origin and operation. It would clear the low-quality content from notifications and other tabs. Besides, the social media website also says that the quality control setting would spare the accounts you follow back or have recently interacted.
